TRADE TEST CENTER

PATHWAY TO BECOMING ARTISANS

The lowest criteria that a candidate needs to have to apply is Grade 9 and a minimum of 4 years relevant working experience accordingly (NAMB in DHE) in terms of Chapter 6A.

The candidate must go to Bapsfontein branch for recognition of prior learning (RPL). He/She will be assessed. If the assessment has been passed, the candidate will be scheduled for preparation then be trade tested there after.

Entry Requirements for Apprentice:

3 X Certified copies of ID

Proof of completion of Apprenticeship Program


Logbook


Proof of payment

Entry Requirements for ARPL:

3 X Certified copies of ID

Proof of at least 4 years working Experience (Service letter)

Proof of Highest Qualification

Updated CV

Proof of payment

How does it work

Procedure to obtain a trade test certificate. (There are 2 options of doing your Trade Test)

 

Pathway 1

Apprentice or Internship

  • Candidate must have SA Identity document
  • Proof of completion of apprenticeship / internship programme
  • Proof of logbook
  • Updated CV

 

Pathway 2

ARPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

  • Candidate must have SA Identity document
  • Proof of 4-years working experience ( Service Letter )
  • Minimum Grade 9 and 4 years working experience
  • Updated CV

With both options you will, if you pass the Trade Test, obtain a Section 26D qualification (Red Seal Certificate).
